Prep Final week refelction

 

This week we finished prep, packaged our product, and are ready to sell it. I feel that this week we worked well together, we got everything that we needed to get done done. We made a checklist of stuff we needed to do so we didn't really face any challenges. Our teacher has always helped us and been patient and helpful with the creation of our product.

Week 9 reflection

 Reflection Questions:

1. Do you feel your team has worked well together? How so? 

I feel that for the first couple of weeks our team worked well together and we managed our time well, recently however we are running out of things to do and are losing our focus.

2. What have you done to get over difficulties or challenges? 

We haven't had any difficulties to overcome.

3. How has your teacher helped you to become business prepared for market day? 

He has given us lots of ideas and inspiration and been truthful with us.

4. List all the things you need to bring with you for market day next Friday.

Week 8 reflection

 I think that I spent my time not very well today, we got distracted quite a bit.

My biggest achievement was creating the poster that would be presented on our table with our product to attract people.

Gagan Singh is making driftwood candle holders, they look quite nice and they're a practical gift for other people.

Next time I needed to work on managing my time well because we didn't get that much done today.

Week 7 reflection

This week for PREP we finished the creation of our product, we varnished everything as well. 

We used our time really well today, we finished everything that needed to get done. 

Our biggest achievement today was varnishing everything because we only started today and we got it done right away.

Joe is making driftwood candle holders, each holder can hold between 3 and 7 candles.

To make sure I'm on task next week I need to remember to bring my Chromebook.

Week 6 reflection

 This week we made 17 of our product. The coasters have been sanded really nicely and next week we are planning to finish. We will sell 1 coaster for 2.50 but if you buy 2 you only have to pay 4 dollars saving you 1 dollar.

We made lots of our products today, and we improved our technique of making coasters.

I used my time well today and because we got a lot done, I was never off task at all during this lesson.

I think that Raman's product was pretty cool because he worked really hard on it and it looks goo.

Week4 reflection

 Today Jamie and Jahni made some prototypes of our product while I planned for next week.

This is a photo of our current prototypes.

What went well was we managed to finish our prototype phase and Mr. Dunn liked it.

I have also planned for next week so we can get straight into the woodwork room next week.

What didn't work well was that some of the wood we got had cracks in them so we had to throw them away.

Thinking ahead to week 5 - PREP

 This week will be the week that we start making the actual product. We will bring something to package our coasters in so they nice and presentable. We are hoping that nice packaging will attract customers and bring in the money. We will be selling our coasters in sets of 2 and 4. 

Edit - I brought stuff to package our product, while Jamie and Jahni work on creating more product I will work on the packaging. 

Plan for Prep Week 4

 We have our wood now and it's sitting in the office so we can use it whenever we want.

After we get into the woodwork room we will create a prototype of our product so we can see how it turns out. For our actual product, we might add some carpet to the bottom of the coasters so the wood doesn't scratch the surface on which it's being used on.

To get this carpet my mum and I will go to the carpenter and grab whatever offcuts we can. We will glue the carpet to the bottom of the coasters.

If we aren't happy with how our prototype turns out we will keep making them until we are.

Week 3 Prep reflection

Today we finished all preparation we needed to get done before we could go into the woodwork room. We are now ready to make our product. What went well? We managed to manage our time nicely so that we got everything that we needed to do done. Nothing was that difficult. For Prep next week I need to grab the offcuts of wood so my group can start making our coasters.

Our group got all of our work done and we nearly finished our proposal.

2. What was difficult?  Why do you think that was?  

Nothing was difficult

3. What do you need to work on in preparation for the next PREP lessons?

We are all ready for prep next week so we need to do nothing to get ready for the next Prep lesson.

About our product

For now, we are still in the planning phase for the creation of our product, We have planned where we are going to get the wood from as well. Our Product is Christmas themed coasters, we are planning to make coasters and then laser cut Christmas stuff onto them. Our group is named Big KEK (Name made by Jamie Ogle.) I am working with Jamie Ogle and Jahni Latu.

First day of Prep reflection

 

1. What went well today for you and your team?  Think about your teamwork and your group’s product idea.

What went well today was we finished all the work that we needed to do and worked together well.

2. What was difficult?  Why do you think that was?  

If was quite difficult to focus through most of this because my friends were being a little bit distracting.

3. What are the three new business terms you learned today?

Businesses need to be innovative, creative and they need to understand what do do and when.

4. What do you need to work on in preparation for the PREP lessons next week?

WE need to know what we need for our product and we also need to think about how to achieve our goals in the long run.
